Having a c-section will make closing your diastasis harder, but only towards your scar.  You can still close the diastasis on the top and middle of your abdomen. Any time you have a surgery, it leaves behind a scar. Under that scar are adhesions, which is when one layer of skin attached to another layer. Normally there is movement between layers of skin, but when adhesions occur, movement is limited.  It's advised that after having a c-section, you do what's called "scar mobilization" which means you are helping those two layers of skin to not stick together. Do YOU have a diastasis? Things have been going well this week. I'm continuing the Tupler exercises and also trying to stick to an exercise routine. It's been difficult this week - my oldest started Kindergarten so we've been busy going shopping for supplies and going to open houses. One victory this week was going down in clothing sizes. I had ordered some shirts online, and I have been wearing a 2XL shirt mainly to hide my belly. So when I was ordering them I knew I could fit into an XL but I got up the courage and ordered a Large. It's been a good week in my journey of the Tupler Technique.  Some things continue to get easier or more  comfortable as my core is getting stronger.  As I said last week my bath towels are fitting better - I haven't been able to use a normal size towel to fit all around my midsection since before I had kids 5 years ago!  Bending down and picking up my kids' toys is getting easier - it doesn't hurt my lower back as much and I don't have to use one hand on my knee to support myself.  My splint is also...
