A jar of Pic’s Really Good Peanut Butter

Forget what you know about peanut butter as a spread.  Pic’s Really Good Peanut Butter is here to change all of that.  It sounds grand I know but it is b2ap3_thumbnail_pb.jpgthat simple and the Pic’s Really Good Peanut Butter Story is as good as their product – the two are intertwined.

Back in 2007 Pic discovered his favorite peanut butter was full of sugar.  He roasted some nuts, squashed them up and feed them to his 12 year old son (who now works there) and his friends.  One of them liked it so much they bought a jar.  Pic got into business initially with an adapted concrete mixer/roaster and selling his peanut butter down at the Nelson Farmers Market in Nelson New Zealand.  And well the rest is history. Fast forward to 2014 - he’s won awards and applauds for his simply “nothing but peanuts and salt” (or in the case of the unsalted varieties just peanuts) really good peanut butter.

They use Australian nuts because they are the best in the world –hi-oleic peanuts from Queensland.  They ship them in, batch roast them under the watchful eye of Head Roaster Corey and squish them up into a glass jar.  Topped off with their iconic red star for Crunchy. Black star for Smooth.  All done and dusted, roasted, squished and jarred within an hour.

This was so smooth and creamy and my kids loved it too!  Be sure to stir it when you get it, because the oil settles on the top.

Be sure to check out their website here: http://picspeanutbutter.com/
