The boys and I attended CHRISTMAS IN CANDYLAND, part of the Derby Dinner Playhouse Children’s Musical Theatre Series!  We loved this unique, fun show and the visit with Santa that was included as well!  You start with a wonderful meal at the buffet and then Santa and Mrs. Claus come to visit every table!

One of the most loved board games of all time comes to life on the Derby Dinner stage!  It’s Christmastime and Nick and Noelle receive a ticket to play a special edition game of Candyland in a magical world.  As they play the game, they meet many colorful characters along the way: Prewitt P. Peppermint, Betty Butterscotch, Captain Cookie, and Holly the Jolly Rancher.  They do all they can to beat the selfish Lord Licorice to the end and win the game.  This interactive musical will take you on a journey full of sweet surprises!  All of the actors played their parts so well.  I loved how their costumes and wigs matched their personalities too!  The music is fun and the story is meaningful so it really kept my kids attention!

The book, music, and lyrics for CHRISTMAS IN CANDYLAND was written by Heather Paige Folsom.  Derby Dinner’s production is under the direction of Tina Jo Wallace. All public performances feature a kid friendly menu and are one hour in length.  This production is most suitable for ages 3 - 12.  Santa will visit every table before each show!

Public performances run December 7, 14, 21, 23, 2019.  For best ticket availability, check out the Dec. 23rd shows as the rest are nearly sold out!  For ticket information please call 812-288-8281 or visit www.derbydinner.com.
