I had the pleasure yesterday of attending the Colors of the Season dinner show at the Galt House Hotel as part of their Kalightoscope Christmas offerings and it truly put me in the holiday spirit!  This show, in the Archibald ballroom has a fantastic set and a fantastic cast!  Upon entering, we were greeted and shown to our seats promptly.  We were then treated to hot apple cider while the cast came out with a small preview show of sorts.  They sang a few holiday tunes and then taught us all about Christmas from Kentucky songs!  I learned a few things about how many country stars are from right here in KY!

Once the pre-show was done we proceeded to dine on a lovely lunch as part of their matinee performance.  It was a very filling plate of turkey stuffed with dressing and mashed potatoes and asparagus on the side!  Served with a salad and warm rolls, it was delicious.  Of course, it was hard to resist the yummy cheesecake that was already there too!  The Galt House even offers a vegetarian alternative as well as more child-friendly meals if you bring a little one with you!  Once we were done eating, the cast came back to the stage and proceeded to take us through some of their best Christmas memories!  Times of new couples falling in love, families coming together for Christmas and celebrations with friends!  The production includes 6 singers, 2 dancers and 2 local children.  We go through scenes at a snow filled park, a toyland filled with life-size dolls and nutcrackers, and even a warm living room by the fire.

All of the performers were talented and professional.  The show ends with a sing-along where audience members are invited to join in 5 familiar favorites!  Lunch and the show was about a 2 hour event that would be appropriate for all ages, as there is much to see and hear! There are a few performances left, and ticket prices range from $13 - $46 depending on age and time of show. For more information, check out their website at
