Derby Dinner Playhouse Cash on Delivery Review and Giveaway!
Derby Dinner Playhouse kicked off their 40th Anniversary season for 2014-2015 last week with the comedy CASH ON DELIVERY. If you need a great laugh, this is the show for you! We laughed so much it hurt!
CASH ON DELIVERY is a fast-paced farce about con artist Eric Swan, played by Cary Wiger. He has duped the welfare authorities for years by claiming every type of benefit for the innumerable people he claims live at his address. This scam nets him tens of thousands of tax free dollars. Just when he decides to kill off many of the imaginary recipients, the welfare investigators show up and things get a bit risky and he tries to outwit them by enlisting the help of his crazy friends and family.
Wiger, as always, kept the pace moving fast on stage and the audience hanging on to every word! J.R. Stuart who played Norman McDonald, kept us in stitches. He does characters so well and this is one not to me missed! Tina Jo Wallace plays Linda Swan, Wiger’s wife. She spends a majority of the show thinking her husband is a cross dresser and looks to her psychiatrist, Dr. Chapman, played by Paul Kerr for guidance. The entire cast brings this show together beautifully!
If you saw Don’t Dress for Dinner, the last comedy Derby Dinner did, This one is even funnier! ! If you love how well the Derby Dinner cast can take a script thick with people mistaking each other for someone else, twists of fate, and side-splitting lines coming from eclectic characters, you have to see this show!
CASH ON DELIVERY was written by Michael Cooney and is under the direction of and produced by Bekki Jo Schneider. The cast includes J.R. Stuart, Tina Jo Wallace, Cary Wiger, David Myers, Janet Essenpreis, Elizabeth Loos, Paul Kerr, Bill Hanna, Marina Hart, and Bill Hanna.
The show runs through June 29, 2014. For ticket information please call 812-288-8281 or visit www.derbydinner.com
