Some of my fondest childhood memories were from going to ice shows like the Ice Capades and Walt Disney’s World on Ice.  I b2ap3_thumbnail_image-1.pngdon’t remember a lot of details from the actual shows, but I remember how exciting it felt to go, how beautiful the ice was, and how fun it was to see the characters skate around. So when I heard that Disney on Ice was going to be at the KFC Yum! Center, I was so excited to take my kids.  I hope that they have the same fond memories of their experiences.
The show we saw was called “Disney on Ice Presents Princesses and Heroes” and had scenes from some of our favorite Disney movies.   I have three boys and the mix between the princess scenes and everything else was just right to keep their focus.  Our favorite scene was actually from the Little Mermaid.  The fishermen from Prince Eric’s ship did a lot of acrobatics and flips in the air, which my boys loved.  The “Under the Sea” song was also a big hit with my boys.  Sebastian was comical and the colorful skating fish were a lot of fun.  There were also scenes from Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Snow White, Princess and the Frog, and Tangled.  The fire breathing dragon from Sleeping Beauty was awesome and another big hit with all the kids.
My oldest boys are 4 and 2 and I worried about whether or not they would have the attention span for the show, but they loved every minute of it.  We are a big Disney family and have watched all of the movies, so they recognized all of the characters which really helped to hold their attention.  Also, the show was narrated by Mickey, Minnie and Goofy, who came out between each act.  My kids love Mickey so if they were ever getting a little restless, as soon as Mickey came out they were focused on the show again.

Being new to Louisville, this was our first time at the KFC Yum! Center.  I was really impressed with how friendly and helpful all the workers were there.  Also, the facility and restrooms were really clean and the whole place was easy to navigate.   Compared to other event centers I have been to, the Yum! Center is one of the best.  I'm looking forward to attending more events and shows there in the future.
The show runs through Sunday, Sept. 21.  For tickets click here: http://www.ticketmaster.com/venueartist/180945/1638731
