Do you consider yourself lucky?

This past weekend we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day! A holiday known for bringing people Good Luck! As a parent, there are many times that we can consider ourselves lucky. I thought I was lucky when I finally got pregnant after nearly a year of trying to conceive with my first son! I thought I was lucky again when I got pregnant with my second son without even really trying. Some parents consider themselves lucky to have a boy and a girl! Others consider themselves lucky enough to have gotten twins or triplets! While many of us can thank our lucky stars that something or everything has gone right from the minute we conceived until the minute our child leaves for college or beyond, some parents don’t consider themselves so lucky. So many families are affected by early arrivals of their babies and they are the families The MommyNest is looking to help the most!

By creating a team of walkers for this coming May’s March of Dimes Walk, we are hoping to continue to spread the word about the importance of what the March of Dimes does for premature babies! By walking to support the March of Dimes, you give hope to the more than half a million babies born too soon each year! The money raised through the walk supports programs right here in our community to help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. It funds research for oral cleft genes, develops treatments to cure vision defects, and helps to continue folic acid education so that babies are born with less neural tube defects. A baby’s brain needs at least 39 weeks to fully develop! Let’s make sure we can help all moms consider themselves lucky in knowing that they carried their baby full-term! We are on a mission to help all moms reach that mark! The Mommy Nest Louisville would love if you would consider walking with us on May 12!
