Fifth Third Bank's Dracula at Actors Theatre of Louisville
For me it is not Fall until I see Dracula on stage at Actors Theatre of Louisville. It has become a tradition for my hubby and I and we both really enjoy it! This year marks our fifth in a row and we have found that it is never the same year to year. It’s always an amazing show and will have you on the edge of your seat (and glancing over your shoulder)!
As you know Dracula is the story of a vampire who feasts on the living. This vampire is no Edward Cullen but the original Vlad himself. Randolph Curtis Rand returns as the Count. He is frightening! And fascinating and PERFECT in the role! Marc Bovino, as Renfield makes me giggle and terrifies me at the same time. I would NOT want to meet either of these two in the alley behind the theatre.
William McNulty plays the intriguing role of Van Helsing as well as directs this (his own) adaptation of Bram Stoker’s novel.
No matter how many times you have seen Dracula or how well you know the story you won’t find yourself disappointed with this production! The actors make great use of the round Bingham stage and the bug eating Renfield can often be found on the stone walls. There are surprises in many scenes and don’t worry it is okay to scream! I always do.
I don’t want to give away too much of the production as I believe this is one you must see for yourself. This is a great date night show and one that will make you want to come back again and again. Just like us.
Fifth Third Bank’s Dracula runs from September 13th to October 31, 2013. You can purchase your tickets
