Derby Dinner Playhouse will present the holiday musical, IRVING BERLIN’S HOLIDAY INN, opening November 14 and running through December 31, 2018.  For ticket information please call 812-288-8281 or visit

Based on the popular movie with the same name, this spectacular musical only varies slightly from the original film.  Jim Hardy leaves the bright lights of show business behind to settle down on his farmhouse in Connecticut. He quickly discovers life isn’t the same without a bit of song and dance. Jim’s luck takes a spectacular turn when he meets Linda, a spirited schoolteacher with talent to spare. Together they turn the farmhouse into a fabulous inn with dazzling performances to celebrate each holiday, from Thanksgiving to the Fourth of July.  Filled with beautiful dances, sparkling costumes and plenty of romance!

We saw this adorable musical last week and I was so excited to be taken back to a time when life was simpler and dance numbers were BIGGER!  The tap dancing in this show is phenomenal!  I loved every single costume change, and there were a lot of them, and every single new holiday the cast celebrated as we shared a year in the life of the main characters of the show!

IRVING BERLIN’S HOLIDAY INN is under the direction of Lee Buckholz with choreography by Heather Paige Folsom and Musical Direction by Scott Bradley.  There are lots and lots of new faces to the Derby Dinner stage in this show!  This musical features a hit parade of Irving Berlin songs such as “Blue Skies”, “Happy Holidays” and “Easter Parade”, and is based on the 1942 film starring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire.

Make Derby Dinner Playhouse a family tradition this holiday season with IRVING BERLIN’S HOLIDAY INN!  They are serving a traditional holiday buffet with turkey and dressing and all of the amazing sides to go with it!  And their holiday dessert menu has lots of yummy options too!
