It’s Thunderblast at the Kentucky Science Center!

2:00 P.M. — 11:00 P.M.

A full day of family fun
Air Show begins at 3:00 P.M.
Fireworks begin at 9:30 P.M.

The Kentucky Science Center’s largest annual family-friendly event, ThunderBlast, is the “place to be” on Thunder Day!

This years activities include an outdoor sports area where families can play a game of mini-golf or try their hand at a gigantic game of shuffleboard. But wait, shuffleboard is not the only game we have super-sized… get ready for larger than life board games like KerPlunk and Jenga!!  And of course, Science Center Educators will be performing explosive demonstrations both indoors and outdoors throughout the day!!  Learn the science behind the magical glow of fireworks and see just what happens when you bottle-up the coldest substance on Earth!

ThunderBlast features a moderately covered, front-row, riverside view of the Thunder Over Louisville air show and fireworks from the Science Center’s parking lot located at Eighth Street and River Road.  This outdoor environment is exclusive toThunderBlast guests, complete with security, indoor and outdoor restroom facilities, food and beverage vendors, and much more. All proceeds benefit the Science Center’s mission-driven programs such as curriculum development, early childhood-initiatives, innovative new exhibit experiences, on-site programming, School’s Out Science Camps, and outreach efforts throughout the state.

Guests also have access to the Kentucky Science Center’s exhibit galleries including, Science In Play, our new 4-story digital theater, and the Louisville Slugger Museum (until 5pm).
