Several of us here at The Mommy Nest recently received some fabulous games from Wonder Forge!  Below are the reviews, check out how much fun you can have with your kids!

The Enchanted Cupcake Party Game – Reviewed by a Mom of a 3 year old little girl

This game features 10 of the Disney Princesses as cupcakes. Each cupcake consists of 4 parts which are creatively themed to each particular princess. Players will flip over game tiles until there are “Mix”, “Bake”, and “Decorate” tiles facing up. Once that happens, the timer starts and the cupcake assembling will begin! Players will work together to assemble as many correct cupcakes based on the recipe cards that are drawn.  One of my favorite things about this game is that is comes with three different sets of “recipe” cards, so you actually have three different versions to play with! The recipe cards in one set focuses on a single princess, the next set a duo of princesses, and the final set a combination of three princesses.

Some younger children may need help assembling the cupcake parts, but this is great practice for their fine motor skills. They will also learn to match the cupcake parts in real life to those pictured on the cards and how to share and work with others.  My daughter is on the younger side and she also enjoys just playing with the different cupcakes by taking them apart and putting different combinations together.  She likes to play with the cupcakes and her princess dolls together for imaginary play as well. This game has so many options and I love that it will grow with her through the years!

Enchanted Cupcake Party promotes creativity and working together, which are skills children of all ages can benefit from. The game is recommended for ages 3+ and I can see it being fun for a wide range of ages!

The NeverLand Challenge Game – Reviewed by a Mom of two boys, ages 2 and 6

This was a Toy of the Year 2013 Awards Finalist and I know why!  Because kids love it!  Moms will love it to when they see how it can get their kiddos up and bouncing around the room!  I love anything that keeps my kids from just sitting and this game has them crawl, hop, move and more!

The kids love the Jake and the Neverland Pirates theme.  They get to flip the dabloons over to find out what their next move is! They may have to jump through vine archways, tuck a cannonball under their chin, or balance a pirate sword on their head to earn their gold, but they love earning it!  The boys loved getting dressed up in their pirate costumes and then getting this game out to show off their skills.

This game teaches self-confidence and self-discovery as it encourages players to collect more coins than Captain Hook to win!  It also helps with early reading skills!  They are interested in looking at the words because they recognize the characters.

The game comes with everything you need including items to make your “vines” from, a Squishy Cannonball that doesn’t hurt if it accidentally gets thrown at someone, a Foam Sword, and a Foam Feather.  It is recommended for ages 3 and up and can be played alone or with a group!

The Dazzling Princess Game – Reviewed by a Mom of a 5 year old girl

My daughter loves dressing up and playing pretend so this was the perfect game for her!  The Dazzling Princess Game is perfect for both!  Players use their memory to match each picture clue with its corresponding princess.  They then use these magic decoder hearts to determine if their guess was correct.  When they are correct they earn gems to add to the crown, rings and jewelry they have with the game.

This game was so much fun to play with my daughter and even made me feel like a dazzling princess for a few minutes!  She was in heaven spending time with mommy and with all of her favorite Disney Princess characters!  She loves to get it out when she has friend over as well!

The game is great because it promotes taking turns and being cooperative, as well as counting and matching.  Kids get to use their imagination which is the best part! It is recommended for ages 4+ and is best when played with 2-4 players.

All of the Wonder Forge games mentioned here retail between $15 - $20 at places like Target or Amazon.com
