Centerstage Theatre of Louisville opens the second musical of their new season next Thursday!  This time around they will be Paintin' the Town and All That Jazz with Chicago.  Chicago is a Tony Award-winning play and Oscar-winning movie. Set in the 1920s, the story follows the glamorization of criminals, specifically female criminals. The Broadway revival holds the record for the longest-running musical revival and the longest-running American musical in Broadway history, and is the third longest-running show in Broadway history, having played more than 7,300 performances.  The Academy Award-winning 2002 film version of the musical was directed by Rob Marshall and starred...

I had the pleasure of seeing one of “My Favorite Things"  for Mother’s Day this year last night when I attended a performance of The Sound of Music at CenterStage!  I was thrilled to see one of my favorite musicals brought to life on the stage through the artistic vision of Director John Leffert.  I took my 7 year old son who also thoroughly enjoyed it!  It is a family show that is great for anyone of any age!   The minute Emily Fields appeared on stage as Mother Abess singing “Preludium” with a dozen nuns entering on both sides...
