My daughter and I had the opportunity to attend Nutcracker in a Nutshell and we both thoroughly enjoyed it! The performances take place at the Louisville Palace, which is a beautiful venue. My daughter loved looking at the statues and and decor as we waited for the show to begin. Presented by MAGIC (Making Art Grow In Children) the Nutcracker in a Nutshell is a shorter, family and child friendly version of the classic holiday tradition, the Nutcracker.   On the night before Christmas, the mysterious Herr Drosselmeyer presents a magical Nutcracker to Clara. On select dates before matinee performances of the The Nutcracker ballet, you can join the children's casts for holiday fun and festivities at a pre-show Sugar Plum Party. My daughter and I had the opportunity to attend this fun event and I highly recommend you add this to your holiday "to-do" list for next year!   We were greeted by the Party Children as we entered the room. Throughout the party, the different children's cast members would mingle and make the rounds to visit and take photos with the guests. I had the pleasure of attending both the Louisville Ballet’s production of the Brown-Foreman Nutcracker this past weekend, as well as the Sugar Plum Fairy Party they held beforehand!  There were three generations present, my 6 year old, my mom and myself; and all of us loved the experience equally.
