The Mommy Nest’s Storking Program offers a way for parents in our community to recommend that a special "storking" occur for a parent in need here in the Kentuckiana area. As a 501c3 non-profit organization, it is our goal to aid and assist parents in need. We want to hear from our readers, followers and fans if they know of someone who could use a little help, a kind word, or pick-me-up.
What is a Storking? While the normal thought is that a Stork delivers those cute little bundles of joys we call babies, our Stork works to deliver special care packages, pick-me-ups, diapers, formula, gifts, meals, etc. that parents in our community may be in need of. The packages our stork delivers may be in the form of a meal for a new mom, diapers for a family in need, groceries for a family going through a rough time, a special toy for a mom who can’t otherwise afford to get her child a birthday present or Christmas gift, a night out on the town for a mother who just needs a date night at a decent restaurant, cards with uplifting words for parents who need some re-assurance, small momentos for those who have lost a loved one, etc. There is not necessarily anything we will or will not specifically deliver, but everything has to be considered in moderation. Please know that requests for a large amount of items and/or items that are expensive or electronic in nature will rarely be considered. Items such as cigarettes, alcohol, pets and gift cards will also not be distributed.
Currently, it is our goal to assist 1-3 families a month. This program is not designed for families to apply for assistance for themselves. This is a program where we want to hear from parents who can give us referrals and know first-hand about what the parent they are recommending needs or is going through. If you are a parent looking for assistance for yourself, there are many programs in the Kentuckiana area that are well-equipped to aide you. Our storking program is made possible through donations from readers and fans. Please consider donating to our non-profit organization through the button below. The Mommy Nest does what it can with the donations we receive and the items we have on hand. Families will only receive assistance from us once a year. If you or someone else has referred this family more than once, and they have already received assistance from The Mommy Nest within the last 12 months, this application will automatically be denied. If they have not received assistance yet, this application will be considered in place of any previous applications. You should NOT CONTACT US at any time to inquire about your application. We will contact you if your application is accepted or if we have questions/concerns/comments. We can’t handle the volume of potential emails that could come in if everyone were to continually inquire. Please be respectful of our time as volunteers for The Mommy Nest and the fact that we are full-time working mothers as well!
